What “Good Brushing” Actually Looks Like

Jan 20, 2026

Let go of perfection
Good brushing doesn’t mean flawless technique every time. It means the habit is happening most days.

Good brushing usually means

  • Brushing most days (even if it’s not perfect)
  • Making a genuine effort
  • Coming back to the routine after a miss

What counts as progress

  • Less resistance than last week
  • Your child starting the routine themselves
  • A shorter brush instead of skipping altogether

Consistency is what builds habits. Calm routines last longer, and encouragement works better than correction.
